Andrea Clamp & Daniel Hardiman-McCartney
Following maternity leave after having a beautiful baby girl (Esme), Andrea has returned to the practice working one day a week. Andrea has over 20 years' worth of experience as an Optometrist in both independent and multiple practices nationwide. She is a co-owner of the practice and her primary interest is in offering the best possible clinical care within the practice. Andrea is accredited to provide direct cataract referal and diabetic screening.
Daniel is our resident optometrist, in practice from Tuesday to Saturday. He is a co-owner of the practice and along with routine Eye Examinations he also enjoys running our Diabetic Retinopathy clinic, Glaucoma Screening clinic and even an occasional teaching clinic. Daniel is an active member of the Cambridgeshire local optical committee, is a eastern region representative for the College of Optometrists and sits on the College’s national Membership and Standards committee. Along with a commitment to evidence based clinical optometric practice, Daniel is on a mission to ensure the people of Cambridge become more passionate and excited about the spectacles they wear. Daniel’s other interests include mountain walking, Art history and cooking albeit rather badly.
David has been with the practice for nearly fourteen years and is well known by many of our customers. Professionally qualified as a Dispensing Optician, David is also our Contact Lens Manager. He is trained and motivated to help advise people with their contact lens questions.
Gwendoline is our Practice Manager and is professionally qualified as a Dispensing Optician. With over Seventeen years' experience, she is able to provide excellent advice when selecting and fitting frames and lenses. Gwendoline conducts our Visual fields and retinal topography (Heidelberg RT3) clinic. She is also responsible for our exciting and innovative selection of frames.
Hannah is our Pre-Reg Dispensing Optician. Hannah is training to be a Dispensing Optician which is incorporated in a degree programme, for which she is about to enter her final year. While she is not studying we are delighted to have her expertise every Wednesday, Friday and even the occational Sunday!
Clare, our full-time receptionist, graduated from APU in 2004 with a degree in English Literature and Sociology. Clare joined us over 5 years ago and is now a very integral part of our team. She is about to undertake studies to become a Dispening Optician, I am sure you will find Clare very conscientious and caring.
