Optical coherence Tomography
At Clamp Optometrists, we’re proud to use state-of-the-art Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) technology to give our patients the most accurate insight into their eye health. This advanced scanner captures highly detailed images of the layers beneath the surface of your retina, allowing us to detect and monitor even the tiniest changes that would be impossible to see during a standard eye test. By investing in the most innovative and advanced, hospital‑grade diagnostic equipment – the Heidelberg OCT – we can provide a truly complete picture of your vision and overall eye health.
This state‑of‑the‑art technology helps us diagnose conditions such as glaucoma, age‑related macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease much earlier, when treatment can be most effective. For you, this means extra reassurance that your eyes are being cared for with the very best tools available.

the Spectralis OCT 4 Dimensional Eye Examination
The SPECTRALIS 4D HD Eye Health Check offers far more than a routine eye examination.
Using a precise light beam, it scans the retina and collects detailed information from multiple layers within the eye. Advanced eye‑tracking technology then generates highly accurate three‑dimensional images of the retina, enabling the detection of early indicators of glaucoma as well as other retinal and systemic conditions.
For further details, you can view the accompanying video.

For a comprehensive eye examination and a detailed assessment of your overall eye health, we recommend you allow up to an hour at Clamp Optometrists.

Dry eye is a chronic condition that affects approximately one in three people in the UK. It is typically associated with rough and gritty feeling eyes, excessive watering and blurred vision after blinking.
While heat compressions, lid hygiene and ocularlubricants are effective at alleviating these symptoms, they do not combat the cause of dry eye itself.

Myopia is more commonly known as short-sightedness. Near objects are clear, but distant objects appear blurred. There is currently no cure for Myopia and until now, young adults and children with myopia have been dependent on spectacles or contact lenses to correct their vision.
